Moonlight Sonata?![edit]

The idea that the ending of "Monolight" is based on the adagio of the Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven seems a bit far-fetched.

The latter's famous opening theme is based on arpeggiation of the following chord sequence:

||: C#m | C#m/B | A D/F# | G#7 C#m/G# C#sus/G# G#7  :||

Monolight's closing section goes like this:

||:Cm | Ab | F | Csus/G G  :||

If you'd transpose it up a half-step, you'd get

||:C#m | A | F# | C#sus/G G#  :||

OK, there's a joint chord in the middle, and both sequences begin on tonic chords and end on dominant chords preceded by a suspension. So do a kajillion other chord sequences.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 132.77.4.43 (talk)

The connexion is easier to hear on the studio original from Invisible Limits; the live versions had considerable variation... If you think it's superfluous to mention here, you're free to remoov the note. --Tropylium 14:47, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The resemblance between "Moonlight" and the piece's title, "Monolight", is probably not fortuitous. There's even the possibility that it was meant to be called "Moonlight" but got renamed as a result of a typo when putting the album together... Urhixidur (talk) 13:22, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oedipus Tyrannus, recorded live or not[edit]

At [1], Edgar Froese is quoted as saying that the Oedipus parts of Desert Dream were recorded at CBS studios in London. This would mean that they weren't recorded live in Chicester.

Image:Encore.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.
