Odd scene at the museum

I think it was strange that when they went to the museum, each & every work of art had some female nudity in it. If it had been only some that included nudity, I wouldn't have thought anything about it. But since it was every piece, I wondered if there was a reason behind it. The first thing that occurred to me was some sort of inside joke or reference to the "art film" scene in Taxi Driver. But then after I thought about it some more, I wonder if the artwork was chosen due to the subject of the movie, referencing public perception of the human form, especially since the (neo?)classical female nudes were larger & curvier than at other periods of time.

BTW, this is a favorite movie of mine. I always thought of it as sort of a junior Brooksian work, considering some of the actors in this movie had worked with Mel Brooks and/or Carl Reiner, and most of all, it was directed by Mel's wife, Anne Bancroft.

Thoughts anyone?
