Swope Park Rangers or Sporting Kansas City II[edit]
As Anwegmann has pointed out, myself and another user have got in to an accidental editing war on what Busio's first club should be referred to in his career stats panel.
The team changed their name from Swope Park to SKC II in October 2019. Busio made an appearance for this team in 2020, with the team playing under the name Sporting Kansas City II, which is why I'd have this team referred to as such. It was the latest and most relevant version of the team's name, and as with Kansas City Wizards to Sporting KC and Montreal Impact to CF Montréal, we've updated the team name for the relevant players. Not based on how many appearances they made for the team under the particular team name, but used the most recent team name.
But I am happy to concede on that if there's a precedent or a consensus to keep Swope Park Rangers. UncleTupelo1 (talk) 11:09, 30 August 2021 (UTC)
- Hi UncleTupelo1, I posted this on your talk page but will add here too. The consensus from WPF is to use the name of the club at the time the player represented the club and include a note about the name change, which is what I implemented and am following. There was some discussion a year ago I think about potentially adding a slash with the new name if said player represented the club before and after the name change but I don't think a consensus was made in that instance. 15 of his 16 appearances were when the club was known as Swope Parker Rangers rather than Sporting Kansas City II so that's why I put in the old club name in his infobox and stats table along with a note about the 2020 name change. - Hey. Thought I'd reply to you in my talk page and here as well too. "That's all fine, but the 15/16 games to me feels irrelevant, as it should be the latest club name. When Montreal Impact changed their club name to CF Montreal, we aren't waiting for the players to make more appearances under the CF Montreal name than they did under Montreal Impact before we change it, are we? Hence as soon as he made an appearance for SPR/SKC II in 2020, it was changed/updated." UncleTupelo1 (talk) 18:06, 30 August 2021 (UTC)
