About the English Name of this manga[edit]
I saw the cover of the manga, as well as its Japanese wiki page: 幸腹グラフィティ, it seems that the real English name is "Happy Cooking Graffiti" — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bobomarch (talk • contribs) 05:39, 27 November 2014 (UTC)
- That'll be its "Japanese English name", ie. the English name used when referring to what it's called in Japan, with its "English English" name being "Gourmet Girl Graffiti" based on how Crunchyroll/Sentai have licensed the anime. Wonchop (talk) 23:33, 11 January 2015 (UTC)
- Its not the "English name used when referring to what it's called in Japan"; it's the official translated title, but this title isn't actually used in Japanese RSs to refer to the series, nor should we imply that this is the case per WP:V and WP:NOR.--十八 00:12, 12 January 2015 (UTC)
- Because Japanese always use kanji and refer to them by their kanji names in Japanese speaking articles, but we refer to the presented English name if one is present. For example, Encouragement of Climb is written as "ヤマノススメ Encouragement of Climb", but we don't say on the article "Encouragement of Climb, known in Japan as Yama no Susume". Same thing with Riddle Story of Devil, Horizon on the Middle of Nowhere, and pretty much any other animanga name where there's an English title presented with the Kanji one (and before you asked, these names applied to the articles before they were licensed under those names in English territories). And naturally in the case where there's a different name for English markets, such as this one, the "Engrish" one is the one used in Japan. - To revise that earlier phrase, it's not neccessarily how the Japanese refer to the manga (unless it's one of those 'written in kanji but pronounced in English' dooflips), but it is how us English speakers would refer to the Japanese release of the manga if one is present.
