Relationship between the card game and the books[edit]

Happy Families (books): "Happy Families is a series of children's books written by Allan Ahlberg, inspired by the traditional card game Happy Families."

Maybe, but can we be sure?

Happy Families: "A series of children's books based on the characters (including several never used on the cards such as Mrs Wobble the Waitress) was written by Allan Ahlberg and illustrated by Janet Ahlberg and other artists."

This statement is in direct contradiction with the lists of characters in the two articles, which are completely different (only Bun, Creep and Dose are common to the two lists). The way in which the stories and their title characters are named is a concept that Allan Ahlberg may have borrowed from the card game, but most of the characters are (presumably) of his own creation, not based on the characters in the game as this says.

Happy Families (CBBC TV series): "Each tale is about a family of characters (typically father, mother, son and daughter, but this varies) which in turn is based on the Happy Families card game."

Each family about which there is a tale is based on the Happy Families card game?

I've added a citation request to the first, and shall take a stab at fixing the other two. — Smjg (talk) 23:33, 1 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
