The State weighs up what is best for the child[edit]

In a letter to The Times, Brook wrote "From birth till death it is now the privilege of the parental State to take major decisions - objective, unemotional, the State weighs up what is best for the child." Peter Hitchens in "The Abolition of Britain" says it was on 16 February 1980. Ann Farmer in "By Their Fruits: Eugenics, Population Control, and the Abortion Campaign" quotes "Norman 2003" saying it was 10 December 1984. Which is right? cagliost (talk) 15:02, 3 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Cagliost. The letter from Brooks was quoted in the House of Commons on 14 May 1980, saying it was in The Times on 16 February - see https://www.theyworkforyou.com/debates/?id=1980-05-14a.1501.0 Proscribe (talk) 18:23, 3 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
