I like the article. Have some small qualms:

  1. It would look a little nicer if you could add an image to the lead.
  2. 1959-1970 - "have equaled Sunderland's achievement of lifting the FA Cup while playing outside the top tier of English football." – Source needed. Done - Source added.
  3. "In January 1949 Sunderland were involved in what is often regarded as the first case of a player" - comma after January 1949. Done - Comma added.
  4. Maybe an infobox would be sufficient for the top.
