I don't know 100% for sure why it's called Hlíðarendi but this is the way i see it. Valur is based in a neighborhood called Hlíðar, to be precise at the edge of the neighborhood. Hlíðarendi could be translated to English as Slope's end but in this way it could also mean Hlíðar's end (an area at the edge of the Hlíðar neighborhood) and at the same time it references Gunnar of Hlíðarendi one of the most famous characters in the Icelandic sagas.--Jóhann Heiðar Árnason (talk) 22:26, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
