Lengthy list of non-notables[edit]

In the article lead, there appears this lengthy list of former commissioners:

"Planning and Zoning Directors and Commissioners:

James MacGill - 1948 Zoning Commissioner. Established first set of zoning ordinances.[4][5]
James MacGill - 1951 first Planning Commissioner.[6] Norman E. Moxley, Chairman; James Hemphill, Roby H. Mullinix, E. Walter Scott, P. Stanley Hannan - Planning Commission[7] John Louis Coates - Building Engineer.[8]

Wilmer M Sanner Planning Commission Chairman (1962-1967) Sanner sold the majority of his 73-acre Simpsonville farm to Howard Research and Development prior to the public announcement of the Columbia project.[15]

Marsha McLaughlin 2002–present. Former deputy director under Joseph Rutter.[25]"

1. At best, this list should appear under "History" and not as part of the lead.
2. There is only one notable in the list. Most are WP:NN
3. When I tried to "hide" it with a template, an editor reverted it because "hide" is not supposed to be used in the article text. This is actually true. But it has been accepted in the past as a easy way of removing lengthy material of no interest to anyone.
4. It probably ought to be removed completely.
5. Some of the material is WP:PEACOCK for the Director, and has little or nothing to do with the article itself. It is non-WP:TOPIC.
6. Having said that, the current directors can be listed below (but hardly in the lead).

I propose to delete all but the current ones. Move them below. Move the notable to history. Student7 (talk) 23:25, 5 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
