Update information[edit]

The general elctions are over hence it would be innapropriate to speak of them in the future tense. The bidding is also complete. One could search to see who won the bid.

Genting Highlands[edit]

An edit included Genting Highlands in Malaysia as an "integrated resort". While Genting Highlands as a vacation resort with a casino seems to fit the definition, the term "integrated resort" is only used in Singapore and refers to the two IRs in Singapore. IMO we should keep it that way and not expand the term to include similar resorts in other countries unless the use of the term in other countries is verifiable. --Joshua Say "hi" to me!What I've done? 05:24, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"Integrated Resort" is not unique to Singapore[edit]

The term "integrated resort" was used by the Las Vegas Sands Corporation in the 1990s to describe their development of integrated properties such as The Palazzo, The Venetian, and Sands Expo in Las Vegas. This term described all the facilities such as accommodation, gaming, entertainment, dining, convention, and spa under one property, and was meant to differentiate the positioning of their property from the rest of the Las Vegas Strip properties. Suggesting rewrite[edit]

Per [1]

The plan to build the casinos was subject to considerable debate among Singaporeans even till the present day.

This line is problematic because of the use till the present day. Unless we intend to keep updating the link (existing link already makes the statement outdated since it is from last year), a slightly less time-specific line should be used. Zhanzhao (talk) 23:10, 1 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
