First Black British Female with Reggae song at top of the charts[edit]

Much as I love Silly Games, I don't think it was the first female reggae song to top the charts. I think that honour goes to Milly Small's version of My Boy Lollipop. You could argue that this was Ska/Bluebeat or even Rocksteady, but in essence I'd say it's Reggae - in the same way that Janet's Lovers Rock is still Reggae

Actually I don't think either song made No. 1 in the UK - I believe they were both No. 2's

I haven't examined this fact in detail, or what the actual claim is. Silly Games only made it to No. 2 overall, but made it to No.1 on the Reggae charts. Millie Small is Jamaican and not British to my understanding, and her cover of My Boy Lollipop also made it to No.2 in Britain and in the US. - cgilbert^{(talk|contribs)} 22:54, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I could swear when I put the comment above the main page never said "British Female" - I thought it just said female. Both songs are great - I prefer Janet's stuff though

Possible copyright problem[edit]

This article gives credit to Dennis Bovell for writing "Silly Games" but other sources, including the Wikipedia entry on "John Myatt", name Myatt (later infamous as an art forger) as its creator.
