There is a much better picture of Janice on the HBO website - could it be used here?--Opark 77 12:04, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

First appearance?[edit]

Technically, Janice's first appearance on the show was in Down Neck (in her eight years old version), so I'm not sure if Guy Walks into a Psychiatrist's Office... (Aida Turturro first appearance on the show) should be stated as the character's first appearance. Any thoughts?--YegerMeister 00:02, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree: the article is about the character not the actress who plays her. I have made the change accordingly. Arthur Holland (talk) 09:51, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Agree and kudos for pointing it out!–FunkyVoltron talk 07:27, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Plenty of other Sopranos character articles distinguish between flashbacks and dream sequences on the one hand, and episodes where the character takes an active role on the other. Granted, it's usually in what counts as their last appearance, not their first, but I don't see why that should matter. Accordingly, I have changed the infobox to give both candidates for her "first" appearance. 65.68.72.127 (talk) 02:29, 12 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Religion[edit]

Why does the page list her religion as Buddhism? Based on her past in the ashram, and her assumed name of Parvati, it seems she used to be a Hindu. TomUSA 02:13, 4 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It's because she explicitly states it in the show. She's also a Christian at times. It's very much based on her mood. Janice is not a character who takes stuff like that particularly seriously; it's all just means to be special and unique. You shouldn't read too much significance into it. 64.228.147.148 (talk)
