Former U.S.A. Marine[edit]

I realize that the Marine credo is "once a Marine, always a Marine." But common usage is that people who no longer serve in the Marines are "ex-Marines." If we are to describe Mr. Thomas as a U.S. Marine, we have to do the same to all former active duty Marines in Wikipedia. Gene Hackman and Steve McQueen come to mind, and there are doubtless dozens of others. No disrespect to Mr. Thomas or the Marines, but I think we need to keep the usage uniform.--Mantanmoreland 18:34, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Who?[edit]

"They met an operating engineer, who had a flashlight, and crawled down into the hole where the 2 cops were trapped, and spoke with Will." Ok...who's Will? Presumably, he's one of the two PA Police mentioned, but that's not made clear, nor are either named. 85.229.60.74 (talk) 01:14, 8 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

"Will" is Will Jimeno, a member of the Port Authority Police. The other officer was Sergeant John MacLoughlin (spelling guessed because there are so many similar sounding names)

I've just rewatched the original Channel 4 doc referenced in the main article, and I am not looking to disparage Thomas's contribution, but the doc makes no mention of the second Marine reported in the main body of this article. The Doc suggests that that Thomas acted entirely alone.2A02:8084:26E0:AA00:41A4:19B7:EA44:A2E7 (talk) 19:32, 15 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
