Sourcing problems[edit]

Much of this article's content was either unsourced or wasn't about Martin and based on sources that don't mention her. I have removed much of that, but more work is needed. Furthermore, many of the sources that do mention Martin are primary sources; Wikipedia content should be based on secondary sources, particularly for assessments of the subject's significance. @Huon: my apologies for not getting back sooner. I am sending a belated thank you for your time and attention on the Kathy Martin (scientist) webpage, which is much improved thanks to your editing. Best wishes, Carries mum (talk) 18:14, 3 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please review for removal of Twinkle Banner[edit]

Hello @Melcous, I assigned this wikipedia page about an ecologist as an assignment in an ecology course. Students read, and suggested edits to improve neutrality. They agreed that Prof. Martin meets the Wikipedia Academic Notability Requirements and proposed language changes to remove what could be interpreted as promotional language, that I have implemented. I am writing to let you know that the students consider that the page no longer requires a Twinkle alert. best wishes, Dawnbazely (talk) 17:05, 26 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Dawnbazely they do not seem to have understood the issue then. I have made some further edits, but the work that remains to be done includes taking the list under the heading "Service to Academia" (which is still very much written like a resume), and turning it into a prose section in chronological order with a more neutral title, with each item properly referenced to a reliable source. See also WP:LEAD as to what should and should not be in the opening section. Melcous (talk) 23:48, 26 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much for your edits and feedback which I will pass on to students who did the Wikipedia training and editing assignments in my last year's courses. I will assign this as an assignment next year. Also, thank you for your contributions to the Wiki Women in Red project, best wishes, Dawnbazely (talk) 15:38, 27 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
