Original network[edit]

There is a debate on whether Disney+ should be included on the original networks. While the show is an Australian-American production, the production company, 20th Television, is American, and the series was created specifically for Hulu, NOT for Disney+. I think it would make sense if Disney+ specifically ordered the series for Star, but Hulu ordered it, not Disney+. When Star has ordered series for their network, and they end up on Hulu in the US, they are listed as created for Star in the main and infobox, and in the release section, Hulu is listed there.

Per MOS:TVINTL, it should be okay. However, per WP:NOTTVGUIDE, they discourage listing an indiscriminate list of every network that a series appeared on in countries outside the country of production. IP do you have sources that state the funding from Australian companies or governments, because I don't see any? CartoonnewsCP (talk) 19:58, 28 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yep. The end credits? The Australian Government and Victoria Government logos are there. so there you go. The show referenced Harvey Norman in one episode which is an Australian shop and Americans won't get the reference. It has zero refences to American shops. 20th TV may be an American studio but at the end of the day, they're just a studio that can distribute shows to any part of the world whether or not they are made in the U.S. The Pilot was completely made in Australia in 2018 and aired on ABC Comedy here. I believe though in this case WP:NOTTVGUIDE means you can't mention it's airing in the UK or it's airing Latin America as its not a Australian or American network. However though classifying the Australian release as international despite it being Australian would be middle finger to Australian viewers as they have no clue what Hulu is as Hulu has never been in Australian territory. Instead Hulu is split in half streaming services. One is Disney Plus the other is Australian streamer Stan. Not going to get into that as I'm saying if the Australian Government is not involved in this then you can revert my edits. But they are so you can't. 58.6.252.197 (talk) 08:38, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not trying to be disruptive. Just making sure Australian viewers don't try to go to Hulu when its region locked. Just clearing up confusion. I again, believe that any network that is not Australian or American violates WP:NOTTVGUIDE. Really don't have a intention to start a war on purpose. 58.6.252.197 (talk) 08:45, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Understandable. Let's agree to list Disney+ for Australia and Hulu for the United States and not list any others in the main and infobox. They can go in the release section. Also, your intent on saying "but they are so you can't" makes it seem like WP:BATTLEGROUND, which is what Wikipedia is not for. CartoonnewsCP (talk) 15:40, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm glad we were able to come to some sort of agreement. I usually never go on talk pages as I am ignored there. Perhaps I may consider talk pages in future as I don't want a war. especially with an admin. Anyways, thanks for your understanding. Hulu can stay in top especially should some sort of any exclusive premiere heads over to Disney Plus Australia. 58.6.224.69 (talk) 10:59, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
