units of measure[edit]

Shouldn't a structure in the US have its measurements listed in ft/in with metric units secondary?Gtwfan52 (talk) 04:17, 16 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Photos[edit]

Numerous photos of the bridge from roughly the same time frame are not an improvement to the article. Photos should directly relate to the copy of the article and help provide a clearer understanding of the text. I did replace the infobox photo with one of the new ones as it is a really fine illustration of the bridge, far superior to the previous one which appears to have been shot with a long lens from the dam.

Examples of photos that would be an improvement:

  • Any showing the bridge prior to it being raised.
  • A photo from prior to the reconstruction at the beginning of this century.
  • Interior shots detailing the truss work.
  • An arial photo from upstream, high enough that the various locations (the two parks and the dam) detailed in the text could be described in the caption.

Wikipedia is really not a picture gallery. Good illustrations that help increase understanding are welcome. You're welcome to upload any image you wish to share freely to Commons. I'll make sure to add a commons link to the article. John from Idegon (talk) 21:02, 27 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I have again added back the gallery as the photos that I am uploading show different aspect of the bridge and roadway and its history. Showing an aerial shot of the cause way the effect the cause has on the river are different shots. You have cited no wiki policy or even user issue. Again, I think you for your input however, improving the article shows the bridge and it's history. The picture of the sign you took down is the item that has been taken several times and cost the county a lot of time and effort to replace. So again the do go to the article and are not just different aspect of the bridge. Jsgoodrich (talk) 21:22, 27 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I have also looked at many other bridge pages of covered bridges which have galleries showing all sides to help make the articles better. It is your view it does not however if you look at other cover bridge articles you will find galleries like I am working to establish. This is also why I have times where I stop building on wiki because people try to steam rool you. Again, I have looked at many covered bridge pages and working to make this better please stop deleting the gallery.Jsgoodrich (talk) 21:28, 27 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Fallasburg Bridge Showing inside, underside, intterior. The photos thus far show bridge and causeway, bridge, and sign for protection of structure. I am working at uploading more including inside shots historical shots. However, the more you delete the more I don't want to work on it. Thus the page falls into a stub and is not updated for years again. I could post more but I have no desire to waste more time on an editor try to steam roll me. PS I did assume good faith you deleted my talk on your page and instead of talking about it took action. A direct violation of your own user page.Jsgoodrich (talk) 21:33, 27 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Also while I am not a member of the WikiProject_bridges. Following their standard setup states to upload media to "Wikimedia Commons so that it can be used across all Wikipedia projects easily. If there are many pictures a gallery at the bottom of the page is an option to consider."Jsgoodrich (talk) 04:13, 28 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
