Sold to Saudi Prince.[edit]

The fact that Analeigh was sold to a saudi prince, in a scam is well established in the show, I don't hae a print reference a the moment but i will find one. This fact should not be removed without discussion. and if there is any reason you believe it doesn't belong it should be talked about here. -Misty Willows (talk) 01:57, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

(Re: Nov 2 2014 change request) I initially tried to revert this, but it appears that this did indeed actually happen. Neither of the given sources supported it, but I didn't want to remove them without someone else's review. GQ Britain appears to have mentioned it in an article, but I couldn't find article text. I did find an interview with The Daily Beast which did support it, so I added it as a reference. 172.4.28.142 (talk) 06:50, 3 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Notability?[edit]

Articles on Sheena Sakai and Joslyn Pennywell were already deleted earlier this season for notability reasons. It appears that unless you have outstanding qualities, or unless you won or came in 2nd place on ANTM, a Wiki article isn't going to fly. LegalFiction (talk) 04:34, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

the fact that Jocyln or Sheena had their pages deleted is not a defacto statment that only top 2 people should have pages. in fact being in the top 2, is not itself, any more notability than being on the show. Nik pace does not have a page, even though she was in the top 2. Heather Kusimich does have a page, just because Asperger's syndrome. -Misty Willows (talk) 07:09, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Just to point out, I did say that some ANTM with outstanding qualities did have their own pages, in particular Heather Kuzimich and Isis King, I suppose for their groundbreaking and for their causes. I have no idea why Nik Pace does not have a page. For all you know, nobody ever bothered to write it. But you're right, it is possible that Analeigh should have her own page if she is notable enough. That is why we're having a notability discussion here.LegalFiction (talk) 15:14, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I personally think the only notable person in ANTM 11 is mckey and isis. i think analeigh should be deleted until she does something unique.218.186.12.10 (talk) 07:15, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

She is notable for figure being, a figure skater, a contestant on top model, and actress on the Big Bang Theory, and a social awareness figure regarding sex trafficking, Mckey on the other hand is notable ONLY for being on top. model. -Misty Willows (talk) 07:55, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know if she is an "awareness figure" for sex trafficking. Joslyn's page had all sorts of references to her being involved in a modeling scam, and had citations to MULTIPLE news sources regarding that issue, but the page was still deleted. Sheena actually produced an album, which is arguably a more notable accomplishment than appearing on a single episode of a single show, but her page was similarly deleted. I might want to say that the figuring skating is something, but let's face it, LOTS of people are figure skaters and not all of them have Wiki pages. I think the tag should stay and we'll see if the article becomes more flushed out and if this discussion comes to a consensus. LegalFiction (talk) 15:14, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That was all that Joslyn was "notable" for. Analeigh is notable for modelling, figur skating, AND being sold to a Saudi Arabian prince.--Carrieunderwoodfan (talk) 18:23, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Tipton is not notable as a figure skater. She competed in pairs on the juvenile level and in synchro at the novice and junior levels. Kolindigo (talk) 17:19, 30 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That means that her figure skating ALONE, doesn't meet the notability requirements for having an article. It doesn't mean her figure skating isn't notable enough to be mentioned in her article. If you look at ::WP:WPFIGURE/N Criteria supporting notability:
"Skaters who are not inherently notable, but may be notable for other reasons (this simply cannot be the only claim of notability):
Competed at a domestic competition that is not that country's national championships (for example, qualifying competitions for the national championships, such as Eastern Sectionals in the United States and Central Ontario Sectionals in Canada).
Skaters who compete at a level lower than Junior (ex: Novice (most countries), pre-Novice (in Canada), and Intermediate and Juvenile in the U.S.).
Skaters who have competed at a competition in another country or at which skaters from other countries were also present, but where they were entered individually rather than as members of their national team (for example, the Lake Placid Ice Dance Championships)." -... Televion Chart[edit]

I have recently edited the televison chart, adding in Analeigh's latest work but when I saved the page, the chart moved to the external links section instead. If you click 'edit' for the external links section, the codes for the chart are not there. They are infact, saved to the filmography section but it doesn't appear there when viewing the article... Edit request from Syorke, 25 July 2011[edit]

Please remove the below content:

At the beginning of the show, Tipton revealed that she once encountered sex traffickers posing as modeling agents. She was then sold to a Saudi Arabian prince but managed to get out of the situation before the deal was finalized.[5][10]

Syorke (talk) 20:12, 25 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Question:Is there a reason this statement should be removed? Jnorton7558 (talk) 08:20, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request on 7 July 2012[edit]

In the opening paragraph, "for he role" should read "for her role".

Warm Bodies[edit]

There's a minor error in the section on her acting career, where the article refers to Warm Bodies as a horror movie. It's actually a comedic film about a romance between a girl and a zombie that's regaining human sentience, or something to that effect. --50.174.18.182 (talk) 06:56, 14 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected edit request on 30 January 2014[edit]

Please remove what is said about Saudi Arabian prince. It's not true, as none of the reference sources support this claim. Drosmand7 (talk) 04:19, 30 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: please be more specific about what needs to be changed. Hasteur (talk) 15:08, 30 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Lio's name change[edit]

Lio has changed their pronouns and name when they came out as non-binary and it is common knowledge that people who have changed their name no longer want that to be associated with them. And googling their deadname will come up with them anyway. So why is Lio's deadname still on their wiki? It isn't necessary. And I keep trying to edit their wikipedia page to not include their deadname but it never lasts long. Can anyone please explain why this is? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.37.234.215 (talk) 18:17, 15 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

See MOS:DEADNAME. Tipton was already a notable person under their previous name, so it's not unreasonable for an encyclopedia to inform its readers that the name that appears in old articles, credits, etc. refers to the same person. I personally don't think the deadname needs to be one of the first things you read in the article much less in boldface, but that's for the guideline to change. There has been a lot of discussion on the treatment of deadnames, pronouns, etc. (as you can see in e.g. WT:MOSBIO), so these guidelines are in flux and can go through changes in the future. Nardog (talk) 21:33, 15 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Correct. Name-changes don't change history—and WP readers interested in learning more about Tipton (including the changes you refer to) must be able to find their article by the only name they (that is, readers—this can get tricky, can't it?) may know. – AndyFielding (talk) 11:42, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Speaking of which: Am I hopelessly outdated, or could it be considered merciful for readers to include a quick clue-in re Tipton's choice of pronoun? E.g. in the lead paragraph, inserting the bolded:

Tipton (who uses the personal pronoun they) is known for placing third on Cycle 11...

I'm sure the use of they (and other alternative p.n.'s—which must exist and I just haven't encountered them yet, as I doubt it could be simpler than that) will become more and more common, and thus more immediately understood. Till then, though, isn't WP about communication and clarification, rather than leaving readers to puzzle out such things (assuming they've heard of them, and can thus eventually do so)? – 174.7.101.229 (talk) 07:52, 3 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Lio Tipton is married.[edit]

As of October 10th 2021 Lio's boyfriend is now their husband. [1] 2A00:23C5:A212:3B00:643E:5531:4B6E:684C (talk) 15:02, 25 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The cited source is an Instagram post from Lio which links to their husband's Instagram, which reveals his name to be Chaz Salembier. Superkid761 (talk) 20:52, 25 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but a vague Instagram post is not a reliable enough source to support a statement like they married whom when (it looks to me like it could be about an engagement rather than marriage, and just because it was posted in October doesn't mean whatever event they're alluding to happened in that month). Please find/wait for a secondary source before putting your interpretation of the post in our encyclopedia. Nardog (talk) 05:22, 26 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Given how they literally wrote "You're stuck with me 4 life," (not exactly something you'd write if you were only engaged to someone, since you could easily break off an engagement, typically a wedding vow would include 'till death do us part,' which does fit with the whole stuck with me for life remark.)I feel like it's not as vague as you're trying to make it out to be, especially since they've been pretty open about being in a relationship with Chaz on their Instagram, like with this June 11th post, "Thank goodness for my partner, @chazsalembier with whom I am in a queer relationship with, who accepts who I am entirely and only encourages and constantly validates my journey forward, even when I have hesitated."[2] Or even this post from Febuary where they have this to say "Found my forever Valentine. Pretty down with it. @chazsalembier." [3]

If you want our article to say they married so-and-so when, trying to convince your fellow editors with scrambled pieces of evidence isn't going to cut it. You need to show them a reliable source that explicitly says they indeed did. See WP:NOR, WP:BLP. Nardog (talk) 07:24, 26 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, but it’s abundantly clear that Lio is dating Chaz, (and seems to be engaged to him,) so can we at least acknowledge that Lio isn’t single? Sorry for jumping the gun and assuming they were already married, hopefully their future marriage actually gets some attention from news sites, providing us with a secondary source.86.150.163.201 (talk) 19:02, 26 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Maintaining celeb articles can be as challenging as maintaining astronomy articles. They don't call 'em "stars" for nothing. – AndyFielding (talk) 11:47, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Are those three posts sufficient to add it to the Personal life section? Or would they also need secondary references? It seems to be well established, if we are counting social media type posts. - Procyonidae (talk) 18:04, 8 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
They aren't. Again see WP:NOR and WP:BLP. Nardog (talk) 14:23, 9 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Just a quick update, as of the 10th of October, 2022, multiple reliable sources ([2]https://uk.style.yahoo.com/lio-tipton-chaz-salembier-married-064500991.html, [3]https://people.com/tv/lio-tipton-marries-chaz-salembier-in-wisconsin-photos-exclusive/) have confirmed that the couple is now officially married. If anybody has any objections, feel free to list them here. Zekerocks11 (talk) 18:54, 13 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It's already been added, citing People. (And it confirms they weren't married when the OP thought they were.) Nardog (talk) 19:23, 13 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Jargon clarification?[edit]

They also won the go-sees challenge by booking all three of their go-sees they went to and getting back on time.

This is apparently modeling jargon. How about following the first instance with a brief parenthetical clarification, for readers' benefit? I'm reasonably socially literate and it befuddled me. – 174.7.101.229 (talk) 07:44, 3 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
