Episode list[edit]

Any reason why this article doesn't make use of {{Episode list}}? I may convert it if there are no objections -- to increase uniformity in LOEs. Thoughts? Matthew 10:52, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Because I don't like templates and I wrote it. Why must you always pick this same fight with me every time, Matthew? I drew on List of The Sopranos episodes and List of Stargate SG-1 episodes, which don't have such templates, so clearly they're fine without them. Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 11:29, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think you're associating malice where there is none. "Why must you always pick this same fight with me every time", I'm a bit flabbergasted -- because I frankly do not know what you're on about. You make it sound as if I am stalking you. List of Stargate Atlantis episodes didn't use {{Episode list}}, but has recently been converted. I imagine List of Stargate SG-1 episodes will be converted soon (having recently just come off protection). I strongly urge you to read WP:OWN, you seen to be very possessive over anything you touch. Matthew 12:17, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Matthew, my last interaction with you was when you opposed my FAC for Andrew Van De Kamp because I refused to use cite templates. You expect me to believe that your desire to put templates here just hours after I have overhauled the entire page is merely a coincidence? I say the same to you that I said then: official policy where there is disagreement is to follow the style of the first major contributor. I am that contributor and I have expressed a desire to stick with what has already been done. I would appreciate it if you would cease calling for templates on articles I edit, when you must know I will object. If you want to write some episode summaries, you go right ahead, that needs doing. Table formats don't. Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 15:19, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
To be correct: the first major contributor was User:Munnp001 (Old ID:59148645). Personally I get the impression you have an ego problem -- anyway, consensus trumps your desires -- lets wait to see what other users say. Matthew 15:23, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If, in your eyes, to have an ego problem in to trust in my own judgement rather than agree with you and be frustrated when you persistently seek to overturn hours of work for no apparent reason, which it appears to be, then I have an ego problem. Given 100% of our interaction so far consists of you trying to force templates on articles I have edited and then insisting I have an ego problem when I object, I suspect it is not my head that is swollen with self-importance. Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 15:33, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think you do a fine job of demonstrating your problem above. Like I said, anyway, "lets wait to see what other users say". Matthew 16:12, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Here's what one other user says: Why have my Season 5 plot summaries been completely discarded? Were they garbage? Cromulent Kwyjibo 19:40, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Because I checked your season 4 summaries against what other summaries said (and what the episodes I found on Youtube said), and they don't seem to fully match up with what happened. I figured that the same was probably likely with Season 5 as well and removed them. I hope that's okay with you, if not, I can put them back until I have checked them with other summaries if you would like. Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 20:03, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It's a sad day when YouTube has more credibility than a Wikipedian as established in his area of expertise as Cromulent Kwyjibo. His plot summaries are clearly the work of someone who watched the episodes and didn't just copy what he read in his TV Guide. His focus therefore doesn't always match up with what tv.yahoo.com would've written about the episode. Anton Mravcek 22:25, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Calm down. I disagree with much of your edit, but looking at the diffs I get there are some details I left out that I shouldn't have done. I will make some changes when I get back from this shithole, and I'm sure we can improve the article to a higher standard together. Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 12:09, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry if I sounded angry. Elsewhere I recently saw Cromulent Kwyjibo not get credit for something (specifically at PlanetMath for telling PrimeFan the title of a Simpsons episode dealing with mathematics). Good luck with the Isle of Wight. Anton Mravcek 21:26, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I assure you, I have no desire to steal Cromulent's thunder. Now, the amount of work I've stacked up for myself while here means that I have to stick this article on the backburner, but I will get round to it eventually. Could I ask you, in the meantime, to write episode summaries for the ones that are blank? If you can do I see no reason why we can't get this list featured before the end of the summer. Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 00:34, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
What you need to know about me is that while I've watched every single episode on DVDs rented from Netflix (pretty much in air date order aside from a couple of anomalies), it wasn't until I got to season 4 that it occurred to me to look at this article. So the summaries I wrote for seasons 4 and 5 were written with the episodes still fresh on my mind. By now it's been a while since I watched seasons 1 to 3. Worse still, I don't think I saw season 1 on the air at all, so the season 1 episodes I have only watched once. I suppose I could try looking at TV.com (which I consider more reliable than YouTube) and seeing if that jogs my memory of my own viewing. But I'm not making any promises. I have plenty of other 1990s TV shows to watch (like JAG). Cromulent Kwyjibo 22:28, 29 July 2007 (UTC) PS FYI: "cromulent" is an adjective and "kwyjibo" is a noun.[reply]
As someone who has watched the season 5 episodes several times, I find it amazing that someone would say Cromulent Kwyjibo's plot summaries "don't seem to fully match up with what happened." They match up perfectly. They're on the brief side, but they're a lot better than nothing. Donnabella 20:13, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
As I said, I made an assumption. Certainly they can be there if I have assumed incorrectly. Uh, I just finished Season 4 in a separate window while you put them back, so I'm going to put them up now. See what you think of them. Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 20:26, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dvd note[edit]

About the dvd note for season 4: I removed it because it wasn't sourced. Is there a source for this that someone can add? Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 20:31, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Netflix reflects this but I don't think the link I provide would work for someone not logged in to Netflix. Cromulent Kwyjibo 20:33, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm. I can't find it anywhere else; does Netflix count as a reliable source? Do you know anywhere else that has it? Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 20:55, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The only problem with Netflix is that its info can't be accessed by anyone. I'm looking at Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/Ellen-Complete-Season-Tom-Cherones/dp/B000H5U5TO/ref=pd_bbs_1/102-2353786-6420966?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1182721361&sr=8-1) but I can't even find an episode list there. Cromulent Kwyjibo 21:44, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, let's leave it there for the moment and see what the peer review says. I hope to make this FL before August. Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 21:50, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The two things that need to be established is that "Womyn Fest" aired before "The Funeral" and that for some reason they got switched on the Region 1 DVD. Some people are gonna be confused, like, "When did she get back together with Laurie?" and "When did she break up with her again?" And some of those people are gonna turn to Wikipedia for guidance. Donnabella 23:45, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe that needs a little more explanation then. I'll try and clarify it a bit tonight and you can see what you think, ok? We probably won't need sources at all if we get it right. Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 09:12, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Regions[edit]

Why do we have Region 2 in the table if it's just a column of "N/A"s? And why not the other regions? Donnabella 21:27, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Ellen3dvd.jpg[edit]

Image:Ellen3dvd.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
