Production codes[edit]

I noticed that is a edit warring on the article about production codes so, I am going volunteer to be the WP:THIRD on this. I want to point out that The Futon Critic is not reliable for production codes most of the time. I would recommend to watch the end credits of each episodes if there are production codes or not. If there is one at the end credits, then there is a production code. If there is no production code at the end credits, then there isn't one. Here some examples that proves are sometimes not reliable when it comes to production codes: The Gifted (American TV series)#Episodes & The Futon Critic link [1], Manifest (TV series)#Episodes & The Futon Critic link [2], The Cool Kids (TV series)#Episodes & The Futon Critic link [3], Proven Innocent#Episodes & The Futon Critic link [4], The Enemy Within (TV series)#Episodes & The Futon Critic link [5], List of Star episodes#Episodes & The Futon Critic [6], and many more. — YoungForever(talk) 06:05, 17 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

GW production codes can be found at Hallmark's Crown Media Press site, which publishes press releases for all Hallmark properties and distributed globally. — Wyliepedia @ 06:25, 17 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I want to point out that The Futon Critic is not reliable for production codes most of the time. - As was pointed out in an edit summary, Futon Critic uses codes issued in press releases so how is that not reliable when the codes are being provided by the studio? --AussieLegend () 07:24, 17 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@AussieLegend:What the network given may not be the production codes. Did it say they are production codes? Can we actually assumed they are production codes? Please see examples I provided above, they are all had press releases. But, The Futon Critic press releases so called production codes do not match the real production codes on the end credits. — YoungForever(talk) 15:47, 17 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Please do keep in mind I said most of the time, not all the time. — YoungForever(talk) 17:06, 17 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Futon can be likened to IMDb, sure. All someone has to do is email Futon to say "this episode is number x..." and they change it. To be clear, Hallmark's press releases closely match Futon's episode numbers. I can't speak for any linked above. That said, if you look at the page history here, you will see that the IP went from shortening the numbers "for readability" that I linked above to removing them altogether and has a history of not being constructive on other pages. Personally, I don't care if the prod codes are listed on this page, as the episodes are released in order of filming. — Wyliepedia @ 20:38, 17 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I decided to remove them based on your edit summary that shows they don't come from official sources such as the credits, ISAN numbers or a accessible studio source that is NOT a network press release. Network press releases quote and use their own numbering schemes, not the producing studios. 119.224.3.221 (talk) 04:15, 18 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Shortening for readability without consensus is disruptive editing. I wasn't referring to the shortening for readability, I was referring to production codes themselves. — YoungForever(talk) 22:40, 17 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Really removing an unnecessary and possibly confusing zero requires a consensus discussion? 119.224.3.221 (talk) 04:15, 18 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@CAWylie:Did it say they are production codes? Can we actually assumed they are production codes? — YoungForever(talk) 22:49, 17 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Click on the Hallmark Crown Media link to find out. Most of their episode press releases say "Episode XXXX - Title", which, to me, translates as a PRODUCTION CODE. — Wyliepedia @ 23:03, 17 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@CAWylie: I did and I don’t see where it said that is the production code confirmed. Can we really assumed that is the production code?YoungForever(talk) 23:30, 17 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Futon can be likened to IMDb, sure - That's a pretty broad statement. IMDb is not a reliable source whereas Futon Critic is. It is used widelyin the TV project is is listed as such at WP:TVFAQ#Reliable sources. --AussieLegend () 08:03, 18 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
