Image copyright problem with File:Athedmcfn.jpg[edit]

The image File:Athedmcfn.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

Clarify tag for Maryanov[edit]

Niemann's book does not list Maryanov. This obit: [1] seems reliable, so it might be used as WP:RS, or stepping stone, for the particulars. --S. Rich (talk) 04:54, 22 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Accomplishments section[edit]

The addition of accomplishments is an interesting feature, but (IMHO) the listing should: 1. have items that are notable; and 2. directly related to the efforts of the mayor. For example, so what if a city manager is hired after the city incorporates? Or, how did the mayor accomplish the closing of the airfield in Section 14? --S. Significant events section[edit]

The events section has been expanding, but to the detriment of the purpose of the article. That is, this is a list of mayors and not an overview of all the different historic events in Palm Springs. See WP:LISTPURP for more guidance. By limiting the particular events to those of civic (e.g., governmental) interest, a rational parameter keeps this list of mayors from covering every historical event when such events have no apparent, much less sourced, connection to the mayor. We do not have a History of Palm Springs, California article -- and I do not think many small-medium cities have such articles. Such being the case, the history should be covered in the Palm Springs article itself under the history section and subsections. Also, the city article is the rational place to look when seeking such information. --S. Rich (talk) 15:28, 27 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Mayor no longer directly elected or at-large[edit]

It says during Moon's mayorship (ending way back in 2019) that the city government reorganized and now the mayorship is not at-large or directly elected, but instead rotates between councilmembers every year, which is reflected in the mayorship changing every year since. But the first paragraph of the article has not been updated with that information, nor has the government section of the Palm Springs, California article. --Cromwellt|talk|contribs 15:08, 13 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
