Selchow is the authority on the two Jazz Legends Edmond Hall and Vic Dickenson. His two Biographies are among the most exact and detailed of any of the jazz legends' biographies. (Hall's over 640 pages, Dickenson's over 900 pages) the combined research and collection of material took Selchow over 10 years, talking with the musician's relatives and visiting the different places of interest as well as collecting all their music (in over 3000 Lp's, 4500 CD's and hundreds of 78's, as well as every film footage ever released on the two musicians)
