Incorrectly moved

This page was incorrectly moved. This page was previously Mike Rowe, and the content on it is now on Mike Rowe (student). Disambiguation is good, but now this page contains the history belonging to the other page. Would it be okay to move the articles in such a way that the "student" page would have the correct history? --Ciaran H 23:11, August 29, 2005 (UTC)

Re:Incorrectly moved

Of course. I had no idea what I was doing earlier. Eightball 03:34, 6 September 2005 (UTC)

Game Show?

Didn't Mike Rowe once host a game show for the history channel?

Mike once did a game show for FX, but I'm not sure if he ever did a game show for the History Channel. (If memory serves, there's only been one game show for the History Channel -- History IQ, hosted by Marc Summers.) 72.128.44.42 12:48, 9 February 2006 (UTC)

Copied directly from Discovery channel bio?

A fair amount of the biography section seems to have been copied from the Discovery Channel bio. Stattenf 05:17, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

I opened them both in different windows, and I don't see anything that looks copied and pasted. Could you cite specific lines of text, so that they could be re-worded? It looks like they contain some of the same info, but I don't see anything that looks straight copied and pasted. (Cardsplayer4life 22:37, 8 August 2006 (UTC))

I just noted the same plagiarism...it's not had to spot: this is just from the google search summary:

"...sold over $100 million of "simulated" diamonds on QVC, and appeared in several dozen..." - wikipedia,

"...sold over $100 million of "simulated" diamonds on QVC and appeared in several dozen...", discovery.com

Additional Work?

I remember him and a woman in a travel show in the early 90's

I distinctly remember Mike Rowe as a host of a "how to" type of channel for new users of the PrimeStar satellite Television service, yet I cannot find any reference to this in order to add it to his article. Does anyone have any definitive information regarding this? Mordicus Egg 06:38, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

He was the host of The Most on the History Channel

Discovery channel bio says he was in the Baltimore Opera. He also mentions it on Dirty Jobs and in this CNN transcript http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0207/06/cst.17.html , but i can't find any really usable sources for the info... AgentKuma 03:35, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

I believe he was also the host of a show called "Your New Home" which came on in the Baltimore region on CBS on Sunday mornings. However, I can't seem to find a reputable source. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.85.241.142 (talk) 07:59, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

He's narrating a new show on National Geographic Channel called "Wicked Tuna" - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2191567/fullcredits — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.0.61.14 (talk) 22:12, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

Dr. Katz?

Was this really the same Mike Rowe in the Dr. Katz episode? I know IMDB lists him in it as well, and the real name of the comedian is "Mike Rowe", but it doesn't sound a bit like this Mike Rowe at all, and as far as I know, only fairly big stand-up comics were on that show. Anyone have a source other than IMDB? 24.62.3.114 11:24, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

Ultimate Fighter Credit

It's difficult to see, because of the credit-speed, but I beleive Mike Rowe was actually given full credit as "Announcer" for The Ultimate Fighter: Team Hughes vs. Team Serra (Series ?? of The Ultimate Fighter). This would be more than just 'doing voice-over work', and would bring it up to par with Mike's "Other narration" works. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.209.116.39 (talk) 03:05, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Agreed, it definitely sounds like him. QuinnHK 05:29, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

Mike Rowe Entry at Bottom of Page?

I think the very last entry on the page needs to be edited or removed. It talks about a Mike Rowe who is an electrician and his wife. If it does have something to do with the Mike Rowe that the article is about that needs to be stated in some way. If not it needs to be removed. I don't really see the relevance even if it does relate to Rowe from Dirty Jobs. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.159.214.224 (talk) 15:20, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

Would Someone Please..

Put a picture of Mike Rowe on here, I would but I dont know how, and its been bothering me.

Please and Thank you! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Amandatina (talkcontribs) 01:53, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

Could someone also fix the information at the top of the page that someone changed to:

Mike Rowe Born March 18, 1423 (1423-03-18) (age 584) His own anus Died 2007 Your mother's bedroom Occupation Television host and Narrator Height 2'0" —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rune1im (talkcontribs) 01:36, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

Opera Career?

From what I understand he has a background in opera and theatre. Can someone include this in his writeup? He's not just a television personality, his roots are in theatre. Thanks! - Patrick —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.35.78.116 (talk) 05:22, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Hmm, I seem to remember the article used to mention that.....After checking the history, it did indeed used to mention that, as well as the recently added QVC reference. Not sure why it was removed. I will try to fix it at some point in the near future if no one beats me to it. Cardsplayer4life 07:07, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
It's obviously been fixed. Thanks, Carsplayer4life! XSG 03:47, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Page updates

Removed this line from the article:

As of January 2008, Rowe is featured in several web viral videos promoting the HP tx2000z presented in the format as a spoof of his "Dirty Jobs" TV show http://www.hp.com/mike.html

the link now goes to a page that says "The page you requested has been moved, or no longer exists." A search for "Mike Rowe" on the HP site did not return anything relevant. dafydd (talk) 18:25, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

Death?

I haven't found any places or any proof that he died. What's going on? WadeSimMiser (talk) 23:41, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

It's called vandalism. - Ageekgal (talk) 22:04, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

Cleanup?

Anyone feel like doing a cleanup of the article? I don't think we need successive paragraphs that are nothing but lists of of what he's hosted or narrated - if that is salient to the article, then it can be included as a table. Vulture19 (talk) 14:07, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

Info Box encroachment

While making some edits this day I noticed that while the Info Box appears in its normal layout using the Preview command during editing once a page has been saved it migrates a couple of spaces to the left to encroach into the body of the article. None of my edits involved the Info Box, and I cannot recall if the contition pre-dated making any today. Nothing seems apparent in the Info Box code. Can anyone shed some light on this/fix the problem? That would be great. Cheers. Wikiuser100 (talk) 13:38, 25 February 2009 (UTC)

It looks normal to me. Can you post a screenshot, or email one to me? In any case, you can use the history to find older versions of the page to see if it is different. For instance, load this page. Nice cleanup, BTW. tedder (talk) 13:41, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for feedback. No, not normal on my set-up: it starts out hard right, then scoots over a couple of spaces once the page is fully loaded. How do I post a screen shot here? Appreciate the nod about the edit. Cheers. Wikiuser100 (talk) 12:44, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

no research, no personal information

Narration and voiceover work

Discovered that Mike Rowe is credited with some work on the Baby Genius line of products for narration and voiceover work. As this line of products may or may not fall under notability I will simply mention it here and let folks go over it and see if it bears including or not.

Crop Picture?

Should this picture be cropped? Seems high-res enough to just include the subject of this article. Esc861 (talk) 23:47, 22 November 2009 (UTC)

Game Sighting

Don't know if y'all wanna add this or not, but the new EverQuest II expansion, Sentinel's Fate, includes a character at The Tiger Pit named Tiger Caretaker Mik'roe who gives a quest called "A Dirty Job". --Bill W. Smith, Jr. (talk/contribs) 17:17, 1 March 2010 (UTC)

QVC in filmography

Stupid question, but what qualifies a television show for someone's "filmography"? Any reason stuff like QVC is excluded? -KaJunl (talk) 01:55, 10 April 2015 (UTC)
