Occupation[edit]

I think it's not good for an encyclopedia to have listed as bootlegger and racketeer his occupations. Those need to be corrected and other factual information should be presented as well. --Lobbynoise (talk) 17:40, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Corrected in what way? Dalitz, himself, admitted he was a bootlegger to the Kefauver Committee. Not including this information is censorship. Removing "bad" factual information but leaving "good" factual information is taking sides. How does one decides what is good or bad; what to include and what to leave out if one does not take a particular side? Whatever your opinion of a person, Wikipedia articles should be neutral and present the bad along side the good. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 04:11, 26 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Gangster[edit]

Dalitz's history of criminal activity in the 20s-40s as part of US organized crime, as documented by the article prior to my recent edit, defines him as a gangster, conviction(s) or not. Further, his own daughter describes him as such in a 2014 self-penned article. Nuff said--Dalitz was, at least in early to mid-life, a gangster. Tapered (talk) 11:32, 15 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Purple Gang[edit]

Is there some special reason why Dalitz' affiliation with the Purple Gang has been excluded from this article? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:6C50:6180:3342:187E:B36A:F833:3370 (talk) 02:43, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a reliable source for that information? - Cameron Dewe (talk) 04:13, 26 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
