Poor Bruno[edit]

Why do you insist of depriving poor Bruno Mattei of his co-directing credit on Monster Shark? His name is in the film's credit, isn't it? He was second unit director on the film. You seem determined to keep him from being credited for his work on this film.68.129.15.71 (talk) 01:38, 12 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Per WP:RAWDATA, Wikipedia content should be able "To provide encyclopedic value, data should be put in context with explanations referenced to independent sources. [...] merely being true, or even verifiable, does not automatically make something suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia." I've said this to you before, on several pages, you need to provide context. I know you are a Mattei fan and thats great, but you have to explain why him doing second unit stuff in this film is important or relevent to the development of this film. From your other edits, you often state this is things fans would want to know, but you need to provide context. If you could add information on how/why he was recruited, did he do anything signifigant in his role? If you have this information. Fantastic, add it in. If you do not, then its trivial. Like, I could add credits to who did the costumes in the film, but so what? Needs source/context. Andrzejbanas (talk) 15:28, 12 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The costume man may have retired after he did that job, but Mattei went on to have his own career and his own fans, so that's what makes it relevant in my opinion. It shows the progression of his career and the other famous directors he worked with. You could pick any fact at all and question its importance in the scheme of world events. Actually what does it matter what year a film was released? For that matter, what does it matter who starred in it really? None of these facts are meaningful to 99.9% of the world, if you really want to analyze it at that level. These entries are being written only for the few people who care about these things, so I would think such people would enjoy getting access to as much info as possible.I agree most fans dont care about the Belgian or South African release title of an Italian movie, but regarding most facts that are still even available on these films, being irrelevant to the reader is a very fine line. Maybe all of the info should be entered for posterity if nothing else.68.129.15.71 (talk) 16:55, 12 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I don't know how to phrase it, but just because his name shows up in the credits, you need to clarify what this did or didn't do for his career to make it important. If you want to add information, tell the user why its important, help them understand how the production was made (i.e: where was it shot? when? difficulties? etc.). Otherwise, its a bit trivial. If you are curious about why a films release is important, its because it puts the film into a historical context. Monster Shark would be more interesting if it was a shark film made before Jaws was for example. I do not deny these films are trivial, but give its fans something to hold on to. Glad to hear Mattei was did some work, but if you can't state why that is important, or how it changed/contributed to how Monster Shark was made or turned out, you are failing to give any importance to it. Does your Mattei book have anything to say about it?Andrzejbanas (talk) 03:36, 13 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A second unit director is one who handles supplementary shots, like cutaways and stunts, nowhere near the same as a film's actual director, which indicates that OP needs to learn something about film making, or at least to be less of a tendentious ass. 2604:6000:6D42:4800:28D4:FE7C:68ED:62D3 (talk) 03:33, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
