Statements without reference[edit]

Perhaps we could add that "local folklore has it that the town was named...." etc., instead of stating as fact that some unknown Irishman gave the town it's name? I've lived here for 36 years and have yet to find a verifiable source for this legend, only oral tradition. If someone has one please produce it. As well, the line about the town being part of the Union but possessing "feelings and traits of those living in the South" has no reference, and as such is someone's opinion.
