Citation and NPOV on Middle of History Section

I added a citation needed to the History Section but it really needs a NPOV edit. Phrases like "Irish Holocaust" Shovelled out etc. are not informative and do not direct to the very serious issue of the Great Famine. Stabilo boss (talk) 15:37, 21 August 2019 (UTC)

@Stabilo boss: thanks and fair enough on the citation needed. As you say, NPOV is important with this important content. Great Famine (in keeping with the title for the main article) not "Irish Holocaust" should be used. "Shoveling out" does occur in the literature but generally in quotes, as another way of saying "landlord assisted emigration". It probably should be omitted here as it won't be readily understood by readers without reference to sources. Other language probably needs a little toning down. Speaking of sources: the book Flight from Famine: The Coming of the Irish to Canada by Donald MacKay, has some pages here that seem to also cover the events in that paragraph. I can't say if it's a superior source to the PDFs already referenced. The PDFs however are academic papers but the book is for a general audience. Declangi (talk) 04:01, 29 August 2019 (UTC)
