I went through the site discussing Notice-ability and I did not quite understand all the standards, maybe because i have never formally been involved in a research. I would like to present some thoughts though.

Firstly, Classical music in India is not quite as fashionable as it is in Europe or USA. It does not have a mass appeal. It has a very selective following - mostly the rich and powerful. Hence, Pt. Mushtaq Ali Khan will never be the kind of celebrity that artists like Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle. Most successful classical artists are the ones who have has success on TV and Pt. Mushtaq Ali Khan was not amongst one of them.

However Ustad ji, had a lot of influence over Sitar in India due to his pupils as listed on his page. All four of them have star pupils who have a very strong influence over the classical music scene in India. But the classical music arena is not like a reality show and these artists don't compete with each other.

But getting back to the point, here are some references to Ustad ji, (the word simply means teacher)

http://india.tilos.hu/english_gh_jaipur.html - A small indroduction of the Jaipur Gharana which also speaks of the Ustad
http://celestialsitar.com/umak.htm - a small biography
http://www.newkerala.com/news/fullnews-129786.html - An event news as printed on a news website
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0QNcOK2tas - A youtube video of his performance
http://wikimapia.org/1455861/Incomplete-Mushtaq-Ali-Khan-High-School-Bhadeya-Gaya - An incomplete school in the name of the Ustad.

All of these links point to a different topic about the Ustad. Please advise if you need more information and I would be glad to provide the same. Wikishagnik (talk) 14:52, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am a little confused with the standards here and yes, i have read all the helpful pages that i was asked to read before i start editing.

What exactly are the quality standards not being met by this page? There is not much to the life of any ustad that can be presented here. Most such ustads had a very low key life and none of them were involved in any historic event. Anything we add to this will probably be uninteresting if not boring. Some insights would be helpful.
