Upset[edit]

This paragraph, presented with its misspellings and grammatical errors, was apparently removed for being POV ("Removed commentary of a Wikipedian"):

Her election in 2006 was wiedely considered to be an upset, as Ryun was a long-time, popular republican incumbent in a republican district.

I'm under the impression her win was an upset, and nothing in that text seems unduly POV. The fact that she won in an upset, beating a Republican in a Republican district, is both interesting and encyclopedic. It needs to be substantiated though, which shouldn't be too hard. It was certainly considered an upset around here (Lawrence). I'll see if I can dig up some news stories which use the term so that they can be cited; other than that, I don't know what else could be used -- it's certainly easy to establish that the district is majority Republican (about 56% Republican to 44% Democratic, according to the Secretary of State's statistics), and Ryun had previously beaten Boyda pretty handily in 2004, but throwing a bunch of citations to mainstream coverage which call it an "upset" is probably the only safe thing to do if that word's going to survive in the article. Tenure[edit]

Seeking comment and agreement: The first few items listed under “Tenure” may not qualify as newsworthy for inclusion in this bio. The three items are her voting against a bill she did not sponsor, denied application to join a coalition group, and House passage of a bill she introduced. The bill passage likely is relevant but needs a Reliable Source. It may still fall below the WP:NOTEVERYTHING standards. Should these items be included or deleted? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Go4thProsper (talkcontribs) 13:39, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
