Removing piece of "Trivia" here

Removing this here in the hopes someone can correct it.

• A clip of the show's opening theme can be seen in the 1996 film Waiting to Exhale.

The problem is this: you cannot see an "opening theme", but you can hear it. Is the writer meaning that you can hear a clip of the theme in Waiting to Exhale? Or is she meaning that you can see a clip of the show's opening credits? 12.22.250.4 21:02, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

Nannies

Although there are numerous similarities between the Disney film versions of Mary Poppins and Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Angela Lansbury's character in the latter, Eglantine Price, is not a nanny. If anything, I'd call her a foster parent, and a reluctant one at that, at least at the start of the story. PurpleChez (talk) 14:15, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

Article issues

I have a couple issues with this article. I've tried to fix them, but I'm having problems. I can't seem to do it without completely re-writing the article (and I don't want to offend anyone).

First, the line, "Playing upon the popular successes of Mary Poppins and Bedknobs and Broomsticks, and other magical nannies of literature..." The character in Bedknobs and Broomsticks was not a nanny. I agree that the film was likely part of the inspiration for this series, but I'm quibbling over the word nanny.

Second, the whole discussion of Nanny's abilities bugs me. Yes, her abilities were somestimes "suggestive and non-committal", but it was clear that there was SOMETHING going on. Routinely knowing who is at the door before they even ring the bell does more than suggest. This type of action on Nannys part was directly identified by the "Nanny noise" (musical notes played). To me, it was clear that she had "abilities." What was not clear was their origin (enhanced awareness, witchcraft, psychic ability, or some other type of magic).170.145.0.100 (talk) 21:40, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

I haven't seen this programme since it aired 40 years ago, but I can't get that theme song out of my head:

Paranormal phenomena

I'm not sure why the "original research" warning has appeared for this section. It appears to be a rather straight forward description of what routinely occurs on the series. In fact, Nanny's paranormal interference between the father and children is a typical plot device found in many of the episodes. The "ding-a-ling" noise is even a prompt for viewers to show that something is up.
