Boundaries[edit]

According to the Overlook Neighborhood Association, the neighborhood is bounded by N Ainsworth Street to the north, Interstate-5 to the east, N Russell Street to the south and the Willamette River to the west. ---Another Believer _(Talk) 00:39, 21 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The formal description reads

"SECTION 1 - BOUNDARIES Starting at a point where the mid-line of the Willamette River intersects with the Fremont Bridge; then Northeast along the center line of the Fremont Bridge to a point where Greeley Avenue and Interstate Avenue intersect; then North Northeast to a point where an imaginary line runs to the mid-line of Interstate 5; then North along the mid- line of Interstate 5 to a point intersecting with the mid-line of Ainsworth Street; then West along the midline of Ainsworth Street to an imaginary point intersecting with the base of the bluff at Mocks’ Bottom; then following the base of the bluff in an arc and across the lagoon to a point intersecting with the mid-line of the Willamette River; and then South following the mid-line of the Willamette River to a point intersecting the mid-line of the Fremont Bridge. "

@Graywalls: Do you think adding this description verbatim is necessary for readers? Mentioning the neighborhoods that border Overlook (as we do in the lead paragraph) seems perfectly sufficient. Wikipedia is aimed at a global audience, and these street names and geographic features (e.g., Mock's Bottom) would be lost on a lot of readers. Well what's in the leader was already there. Someone commented on it that seemed to suggest he had a hint of doubt about what was said. I wouldn't have added it otherwise. Portlandneighborhood[edit]

that commercial website I removed has a lot of dead links, still references portlandonline.com and copyright date is 2014. So basically, it looks abandoned and not updated since five years ago. Graywalls (talk) 18:03, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
