your description of "vadose action whereby a stream running in a cave passage erodes a trench in the floor" does not make sense (it is incorrect, but the terminology is so mangled, I can't figure out what the author was trying to say). I suggest you research the meaning of vadose and revise the phreatic definition so that it makes sense."
