Name misspelled[edit]

This species is named Polygonum basiramium, not Polygonum basiramia.[1] Auxier (talk) 15:20, 27 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Auxier: Schuster and Reveal appear to be wrong. The original name (basionym) was Delopyrum basiramia. John Kunkel Small, who published this name, also published many others (almost 2,500 in IPNI) and was clearly well aware of Latin genders, and that the genus name, which he published, was neuter – he published four other species names in Delopyrum all with neuter adjectival epithets. The epithet basiramia appears to be a noun in apposition, not an adjective, so remains unchanged. See IPNI here. Peter coxhead (talk) 16:19, 27 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
