Portable DVD players are becoming quite popular. It's about time we expanded this article.

LCD Resolutions?[edit]

Agreed. I'm glad there's a stub, but was hoping to see more. What I'd particularly like to know (and was hoping to see here) are the common resolutions of the LCD's. For some strange reason they rarely list it in the specs, as if the number of pixels is some sort of obscure reference that no one would care about.

And will we eventually see players with HDMI, upscaling, and even HD DVD or Blu-Ray capability? Obviously that's a ways off, but it'll happen someday for some high-end players.

I just want to ask something.... Do DVD-players take so long? Chimerarc —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chimerarc (talkcontribs) 02:21, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Portable Blu-ray players exist[edit]

and have for awhile now. Unfortunately they are limited by the currently low resolutions of LCD's of that resolution, WSVGA, usually 1024x600, which is slightly more than quarter full HD of res. of 960x540. Ironically due to the unevenness of the scaling, 960x540 resolution might have produced a better picture... or not. Anyway, however flawed, they are here and the article need to be updated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.254.82.104 (talk) 01:15, 26 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
