Article repeats their menu[edit]

The text of this whole article is pretty much lifted from The Porter House's own beer menu. Kfor 14:16, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Made some wholesale changes to this article as it was basically an advertisement for the company. Still not sure if it resides within wiki policy. If you knwo better...Downunda 06:11, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeay, good stuff. Much more like a real article now. Cheers! -Kfor 11:15, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Porterhouse is more of an 'institution' than yet another pub, therefore full information on its beers and philosophy would probably be of interest to readers. Maackers 00:33, 26 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, that some info on beers may be of interest but "institution" is probably a bit strong!Downunda 06:23, 26 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Porthouse Logo.jpg[edit]

Image:Porthouse Logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Beer list[edit]

Does the article need to list beers served in this chain of pubs? It's rather non-encyclopedic and more in line with an advertisement. Autarch (talk) 20:04, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Do they plan to make whiskey?[edit]

Does anyone know if this statement from the Pure pot still whiskey article is true?

n late 2008, the Irish company Porterhouse Brewery announced that they would be investing 8 million euros in the creation of a new distillery in Dingle, Kerry that will be devoted to the production of pure pot still whiskey in the traditional style.

The claim needs a reference. --Gronky (talk) 09:11, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Couldn't wait. Found a source to confirm: [1]. Roll on 2013! --Gronky (talk) 09:18, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It seems like an interesting observation that the source that you found is also the only source (currently) referenced on the pure pot still whiskey page. —BarrelProof (talk) 06:04, 11 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
