Fair use rationale for Image:ProveItAllNight.jpg[edit]

Image:ProveItAllNight.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

virginity[edit]

"In keeping with a storied tradition of rock songs, these lyrics equate love with the surrendering of a women's virtue."

Besides the antiquated vocabulary here, the sexist idea expressed finds no support in the lyrics, nor in Springsteen's autobiography. In fact "prove it all night" certainly suggests sexual experience and not the lack of it, and if one wanted to "equate" love with something based on the song, it would be with having sex all night long, likely every night.

Furthermore the statement is not supported by any outside source.

If there is no reasoned objection, I'll simply remove the statement. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.224.103.123 (talk) 06:34, 9 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You are right, it’s a ridiculous line and I am going to remove it 9 years after your comment. 73.219.103.208 (talk)burgo 73.219.103.208 (talk) 05:05, 27 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

humor[edit]

"The protagonist promises to prove his love all night, a vow that can be seen as either opportunistic or youthfully optimistic, depending on one's point of view."

Making love all night is not at all unknown. Furthermore I see no intended hint of humor in the lyrics.

The author of this sentence seems to be dealing with his own problems, and not the song.

Furthermore there is no support for these ideas from an outside source.
