1817 or 1814?[edit]

The page currently lists the Regency era storyline as taking place in 1817, the real year Princess Charlotte of Wales died. However, other comments by the characters suggests it actually takes place in the winter of 1814-1815', after Bridgerton Season 2:

- Like in the source material, Bridgerton S1 takes place in 1813, as confirmed by Netflix. Bridgerton S2 is explicitly the following season.

- The Queen comments that Violet was able to set up two marriages in two years, a compliment that would surely be less effective if none of her six unmarried children had married since 1814.

- In episode 5, Violet says that Anthony is currently on his honeymoon and Penelope and Eloise are on the outs, both of which happened in the last episode of season 2. Though I don't recall the exact phrasing, I believe season 2 ended with a six month timeskip to 1815, and Eloise comments that Anthony and Kate were honeymooning during that time.

I am inclined to think that Princess Charlotte's death and Queen Victoria's conception have just been moved up a few years (hardly the most egregious artistic license in this show). Thoughts? Lemongrass2013 (talk) 15:18, 9 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
