Is Cargoking an RTÉ employee?[edit]

The user Cargoking has reverted edits on this page, including valid points that the RTÉ player is not available outside the island of Ireland. The whole article reads like a dull press release. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.193.97.190 (talk) 22:13, 7 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I can confirm now I am not. The edits added were out of place. In my opinion, they were in an unencyclopedic tone. Another user has added the points correctly. Thanks,  Cargoking  talk  22:40, 7 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I have restored the valid points made that the RTÉ player is geoblocked outside Ireland. Donoreavenue (talk) 22:43, 7 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. :)  Cargoking  talk  22:46, 7 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reads like an advertisement/as if it was written by someone in RTÉ[edit]

I would just like to say that this article seems to read like a press release from RTÉ. Should a tag be put on it saying this until the issue is cleared up? Shane (talk) 21:29, 25 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The original article was directly copied from the press release, an a user who has made four contributions, all of which on RTÉ player. Since then the article has been cleaned up.  Cargoking  talk  22:45, 7 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Software currently in development[edit]

This page needs the 'software is currently in development' tag, at least until the player drops the 'beta' tag. Shane (talk) 21:29, 25 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Capitalisation[edit]

Should the 'P' in 'RTÉ Player' be capitalised or the name of the service italicised when mentioned throughout the text? I feel that, while of course RTÉ uses the lower-case lettering in the logo of the service, refering to it as 'the player' throughout the article does not contribute well to readability. Shane (talk) 21:57, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In the the press release [1] it is RTÉ player. Thanks CargoK user talk 16:41, 12 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There should be articles for the respectives from TV3 and TG4[edit]

Same as headline. Shane (talk) 19:41, 11 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion[edit]

While the current content may not be encyclopaedic this is an important part of RTÉ's online activities.howth575 (talk) 19:36, 31 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have fixed the problem, but alas, reducing it to a stub.  Cargoking  talk  20:56, 31 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

When is now?[edit]

"however, RTÉ are now in discussions with Actor's Equity to provide the show online in the near future."
When was that quote made and how did that situation get resolved? Mobile mundo (talk) 21:08, 18 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
