Strange inconsistency in definition of 'superspeedway'[edit]

There seems to be a strange inconsistency in this article when it comes to the type of race track. It is stated that this is a superspeedway, with a link to the page about that. There, the definition states that a superspeedway is at least 2 miles long, while the Raleigh speedway is only one mile long. 217.105.39.159 (talk) 13:09, 9 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The definition has changed over the time. In the first years of IndyCar and NASCAR, there was no intermediate oval. All ovals with 1 mile or above were superspeedways and all ovals less than 1 mile were short ovals. --Mark McWire (talk) 22:32, 9 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
