Tosio had a quirk on the ice; before each bully in front of his goal he hit the posts one after the other with his stick and then got himself in position.
During his time at the SC Bern he developed a ritual; after each home game he performed a salute to the fans – he used to take a run-up, then do three split jumps and cast a summersault at the end – in full get-up.
He was so admired by his fans that they claimed “…and the eight day, God created Tosio”
Tosio once did a free figure skating performance with fellow Swiss goaltender Reto Pavoni (both in full get-up) and famous figure skater Denise Biellmann for the TV show Benissimo.
