Page was cut/paste moved in 2008, so that needs to fixed first. The copy vio itself was introduced 13:31 8 may 2007. The plot summary is almost certainly a copyvio as well, but the source given is now a dead, so I can't prove it. Yoenit (talk) 15:35, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Plot problem[edit]

(Spoiler alert!) Having read the novel a few years ago, and just watched the BBC TV dramatisation, it strikes me that there is a glaring implausibility in the plot. To explain Lucas Romer's plot to have Eva killed, we are told that he was a double agent working for the Russians (the USSR), who wanted to keep the USA out of the war. But is it credible that in 1941 (pre-Pearl Harbor) the USSR would want this? Germany invaded the USSR in the summer of 1941 and made rapid progress. In the later part of 1941 they were in desperate trouble. The Russians could not have been confident of ultimately overcoming the Germans until late 1942 (Stalingrad). Surely in 1941 they would have been glad of any new allies they could get - even the Americans?109.145.56.131 (talk) 15:54, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
