Plot summary[edit]

A huge, 2600-word blow-by-blow account of the plot of this film was added in this single edit in May, 2007, and has scarcely changed since then except to grow a bit bigger. It isn't helpful or useful in my opinion, because to find out anything about the film's plot one would have to read through the entire, rather solid, summary. Moreover such summaries, especially at this huge size, raise copyright issues.

There is no smaller, more suitable plot summary to revert to, so I've taken the unusual step of removing the entire thing. --Tony Sidaway 01:39, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV?[edit]

This sentence seems to be a bit tainted with promotionalism:

"21 years after the film's release, actress Madeleine Stowe would be cast in ABC Studios' hit drama, Revenge, an unrelated project."

A simple direction to a disambiguation page would seem more neutral.

Fair use rationale for Image:Revenge dvd.JPG[edit]

Image:Revenge dvd.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

development section[edit]

The final part of the section 'development' is currently as follows:

For a time it seemed John Huston might direct Costner in the film and the two men met; Huston was not impressed by the actor.[8]

Costner:

To me, it's like picking a football team. The story made sense, to play the game made sense, and it was obvious that I should play quarterback or end. I mean, Cochran is a role that I should play ... The movie needed Anthony Quinn more than it needed me. I mean, there are probably five or six guys who could play Cochran's role, but who else is there who could play the role of Tibbey? The Tiburon character has to be really charming and Anthony has that in spades. He has to have danger and he has to have presence. Anthony has that because he's been a leading man all his life. And he has to be that age.[6]
What - if anything - does this glob of text have to do with John Huston being 'not impressed' by Kevin Costner? It appears something was at some point deleted, but I don't know what it was. I am deleting this section for now, but the full text remains here if anyone wishes to restore it with proper contextRobbmonster (talk) 06:11, 13 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
