Who was the first Scaliger?[edit]

In other articles regarding the Scaliger, in particular the article for Ezzelino III da Romano and History of Verona, the podestà elected in 1226 and starting the House of Scaliger was Ezzelino III da Romano, unlike indicated in the main article as being Ezzelino IV da Romano, which as an article on Wikipedia redirects to Ezzelino III.

The meaning of Scaliger![edit]

Should some mention be made of the obvious connection of the name "Scaliger" or "Scaligeri", be made to this families insignia? It is easily seen that a "ladder" is the symbol, and the word "scal-iger", etc., must describe a family who became famous during warfare, for either building the ladders or "scaling" them!69.92.23.64 (talk) 23:45, 26 April 2010 (UTC)Ronald L.
