Naming of Scipio[edit]

Need a source on Scipio Kenner, that story could very well be true but the Encyclopedic History of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints by Jensen specifically says Brigham Young named the town in 1863 (not 1861) and after Roman General Scipio Africanus not Kenner. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.187.97.22 (talk) 19:57, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I cleared up the story and cited it to the centennial county history. Couldn't have been named as early as 1861, though, since S. A. Kenner was born in 1852. Ntsimp (talk) 22:24, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Then again, it showed up as "Scipio precinct" in the 1870 census. Hmmm. Ntsimp (talk) 22:30, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
