Edit war, reason[edit]

First we discovered the wiki.Shearography page we found an inappropiate add (system images with big logo) by a manufacturer of industrial Shearography systems that disadvantages all other manufacturers. This was not fair and an inappropiate way for using a public forum like wiki.Shearography page for comercial interest. So finally we think that this page should not be used anymore for comercial issues and hence are ok with the edit blocking of the page. We wont edit this page anymore and hope that the OTHER MANUFACTURER, feels committed also to the add free space of wiki. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shearo (talkcontribs) 09:17, 24 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Im sorry, but this is not completly correct. Everything is clear to see if you look through the history and all edits made by "desmoquattro" and "Shearo". For example look at revision (10:01, 14 June 2010 Desmoquattro (talk | contribs) (6,685 bytes)), "Desmoquattro" left BOTH equipment types available and further made the thumbs smaller + cleaned up the formating after "Shearo" previous edit to make the page neutral again. Again the page was to be violated with BIG pictures of "Shearo"´s equipement and "Shearo" removed all images from the other manufacturer + left a wreckless formating of the page (See edit from 06:42, 30 June 2010 Shearo (talk | contribs) (6,701 bytes) ) -Sorry but your explanation that YOU wanted the page to be neutral and withouth benefit to ONE manufacturer etc. is not true as you write it above, - If anyone whants to judge what hapened here just look through the edit history! A summary is also to read below.

Can the IPs stop edit warring and come here to discuss your changes, before you all get blocked--Lerdthenerd (talk) 11:52, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Edit War, Background[edit]

I can explain the background of the edit war: I created the first version of shearography "Desmoquattro" back in 26 of March 2009. It took some time before another manufacturer of shearography discovered it and completely messed it up just to get some pictures of the own equipment there WITHOUT paying any respect to formatting etc wich suffered a lot: please see revision (19:52, 6 June 2010) made by user Shearo. I re-edited the page (10:01, 14 June 2010 Desmoquattro) to make it look reasonable good again with formatting and also made a compromise that both of our equipments are on display. This edit was messed up again from user Shearo (06:42, 30 June 2010 Shearo) without any respect to format, just to bring up pictures of the own producs. I reseted it again to a clean version. But once again it was destroyed by (15:37, 29 July 2010 Shearo) In Octber 2010, it reached a new level when user shearo (or he/she behind a IP) started to change the hypertext on the external links so "Dantec Dynamics" could not be clicked on for more information. This is in my opinion sever and after this the "war" started. I have tried to keep the page clean and not use it as some marketing tool, and not destroying for any one else editing it for developing it. Hope that we can find a solution here and stop this destructive edits done from user Shearo (or the anonomyss IP he/she is using) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Desmoquattro (talkcontribs) 17:10, 21 December 2010 (UTC) (this was posted on my Talk Page, and copied here by Stephenb (Talk) 17:17, 21 December 2010 (UTC))[reply]

I don't particularly care how it started, but you should discuss the content on the article's Talk Page or (if there is persistent spamming and ignoring of the Talk Page) report the problem somewhere like the Administrator's noticeboard. Either way, please stop Edit Warring! Stephenb (Talk) 17:17, 21 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I have re-edited the page now. Deleted any images that possibly comes from any comersial interest with the hope that the page can keep this shape to prevent further edit-wars. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Desmoquattro (talkcontribs) 17:46, 21 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The text and most of the images appear at [1] which is copyright. Could someone work out which way it was copied and delete or obtain permission if we're copying them.--Misarxist 09:57, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the text that appears to be copyright infringement. The pics seem properly licensed. I have to go to work now and will investigate further later. --Diannaa (Talk) 14:32, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Since the four images are from the Commons, I have asked them to look into thge copyright issue. --Diannaa (Talk) 22:28, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

SPI versus SPSI[edit]

Article says in intro: "Electronic speckle pattern interferometry is one form of shearography."

Steinchen and Yang (Digital Shearography: Theory and Application of Digital Speckle Pattern Shearing Interferometry) make a serious distinction between the two, although they are related. A major distinction: speckle pattern interferometry measures deformation, and speckle pattern shearing interferometry measures deformation gradient.

A nonuniform material quality[edit]

can someone elaborate on what "nonuniform material quality" means?
