Why the R?[edit]

The Thai language seems to have borrowed the term wikt:ศรี from Sanskrit, in which it is pronounced /šri/, and this may be the source of the insertion of R in the modern name of the city. It would be odd for that to be known, though, unless it is common throughout Thai as a whole. —Soap— 16:19, 27 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
