The wording of this article is ambiguous. It implies that the notion of 'smart metrology' was presented in a book and that a company adopted it following its publication. On the one hand, according to the Inpi website, which is a French organisation in charge of industrial property, the mentioned company registered the trademark "smart metrology by Delta Mu" on 11 May 2015 ( https://data.inpi.fr/marques/FR4180041?q= ).

On the other hand, the book mentioned in the article was published in May 2016 according to the website of Afnor which is the publisher of the book ( https://www.boutique.afnor.org/fr-fr/livre/la-smart-metrology-de-la-metrologie-des-instruments-a-la-metrologie-des-dec/fa092988/2281 ).

The company mentioned cannot have adopted the method after discovering it in a book that was published a year after having registered the trademark.

One should certainly take into account in the reflection, an excerpt from the discussions of the French page of wikipedia concerning the same article ( https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discussion:Smart_metrology ), which is to date not yet accepted:

"Most of the sources come from two authors who published the same book "La Smart Metrology". As a result, this article is more like a promotional article aiming to put forward a concept not established by the scientific community.
