There is a book which takes its name from this creek and its surrounding community, which I originally found in a public library in another state, indicating a not-insignificant print run. If memory serves, publication was with the assistance of Appalshop, and the focus was on rustic lifestyle, extreme poverty, education and health issues such.as black lung.
