Football club[edit]

Per deletion proposal by Johan Elisson, this group "does not fullfill notability criteria for English football teams (playing at level 1-10)", so it should not be put in Category:Football Club. See http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Stonewall_F.C.&oldid=128228497. I'm adding an editor comment to the page itself. --SueHay 20:24, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think it is clearly notable on the grounds of being the country's first specifically gay team, regardless of its position in the league system. We should be careful to avoid rigid adherence to the notability guidelines in obviously exceptional cases. Beorhtwulf (talk) 16:58, 28 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Reception etc[edit]

There must be press articles and such about how they've been received as the first gay team, how the team's formation came about, etc. I think this should definitely be included in the article. Did they meet with homophobia in their early days? Do they have disproportionate support for a team at their level due to their special status, or what? Have any straight people wanted to play for them? Any information would be appreciated in the article. Beorhtwulf (talk) 16:58, 28 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
