The "non-lethal" Kryptonian.[edit]

I edited the Plot description, changing a reference to "the decidedly non-lethal Superman" to something like "Superman, who chooses not to kill ...." Here is my reasoning:

Is a knife "non-lethal" just because you choose not to kill someone with it? Of course, the analogy is flawed, because a knife can have multiple users. Let's say, instead, that you have a sharp and heavy hook where one of your hands used to be. You definitely could kill someone with it, but what if you refuse to do so? Does that make it non-lethal? Now, let us imagine somebody takes an axe and cuts your hook off at the forearm. They could then use the rest of your body as a "blunt object" to bludgeon somebody to death. Does this make your corpse "lethal"? Next, imagine the obliteration of all life forms on this planet. Finally: Would you like Superman better if he killed certain people (or other living creatures)? Why or why not? Are you sure? Why or why not? I think you lack conviction. Why do you suppose I feel this way?
