Successful good article nomination[edit]

I am glad to report that this article nomination for good article status has been promoted. This is how the article, as of December 17, 2008, compares against the six good article criteria:

1. Well written?: It was a good read and the language is clear and understandable. A few terms are not given too much context, but this is okay because I also checked out those wiki articles and the context is appropriately given in those places, so I was able to follow along. Passes here.
2. Factually accurate?: Duly cited throughout, to WP:RS/WP:V secondary sources. Passes here.
3. Broad in coverage?: Indeed. However, I would suggest going forward to see about expanding the Place names and modern influence subsection a bit more, if this is discussed in secondary sources. I also like the Theories subsection, that could be expanded upon a bit more, as well. Passes here.
4. Neutral point of view?: Appears to be written in a neutral, matter of fact tone. Passes here.
5. Article stability?
  • Edit history: No issues apparent going back over two months. Passes here.
  • Talk page history: No talk page archives. Talk page actually isn't that active, no issues/conflicts. Passes here.
6. Images?: Four images used in the article, all free-use from Wikimedia Commons:
  1. File:The giant with the flaming sword by Dollman.jpg -
  2. File:Surtur mit dem Flammenschwerte.jpg
  3. File:Kampf der untergehenden Götter by F. W. Heine.jpg
  4. File:Freyr and Surtr by Frølich.jpg
Review of the individual image pages from Commons checks out okay. Passes here.

If you feel that this review is in error, feel free to take it to Good article reassessment. Thank you to all of the editors who worked hard to bring it to this status, and congratulations.— Cirt (talk) 09:09, 17 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
